First, I must confess I am a Sony customer … a digital camera customer.  I’m pretty happy with my camera, but I think what Sony did with their "DRM" service (aka rootkit) was pretty lame, and I can’t stop joking about it with just about any Sony product I come across.

That being said … and maybe beyond any point anyone really cares about … the new Sony Professional Solutions magazine for Winter 2006 came out (www.sony.com/mediasoftware) and on page 19 there is a banner that reads "Make Your Own Podcast: New Podcast Bundles Make It Easy".

The solutions are "SoundForge Audio Studio + ACIDplanet ProZone one-year membership" for $90 and the "ACID Music Studio + ACIDplanet ProZone one-year membership" also for $90.

You can learn more via: www.ACIDplanet.com.

My guess is that these products only have spyware and no rootkit. 😉

  • Online Digital Printing Thoughts

    December 7, 2005

CNN just did a piece on the growing trend on online digital printing.  The article notes the ease of use, low cost, quickness, the marketplace, etc.  All in all a pretty good introduction article on the topic.

We have been doing printing via Costco (which is using Snapfish as the backend) for the last couple of months.

    Some of our "test" results:

    • Send them the biggest pixel picture you got, if you downsize you’ll miss some clarity and color.
    • If you do fancy boarders or add thier online artwork, the picture quality seems to go down.
    • Using the Internet Explorer plugin on Windows makes the uploading easier.
    • Turn around time is pretty fast.
