Bloggercon – No Plugging Your Own Stuff

Near the end of the IT Conversations MP3 of the podcasting session of Bloggercon there is a conflict on "no plugging your own stuff" rule when I think it is Dave Sifry at Technorati trying to point people to this URL: http://www.technorati.com/live/topmp3s.html.

It seems like Dave wasn’t trying to say spend $49 on my all in wonder tool, and your life will be better.  The above URL is just another flavor of: http://audio.weblogs.com/ which it seems to me would be an OK topic to talk about.

More info on this topic via Dave Winer on Bloggercon and The "Making Money" Session.

Granted I wasn’t there … so it may be a complete misunderstanding of events that unfolded, and then have been transcribed incorrectly.

  1. Yes, that’s pretty much a correct reading of my intent. I wasn’t trying to sell anything, just point out another way to find interesting podcasts, especially after Adam spent 10 minutes talking about his directory, and lots of user comments asking for other ways to seperate wheat from chaff.

  3. The podcasting “dispute” was minor. The one many people are anxious to hear is the Overload session where there was real fireworks on this issue. Having been there, I am curious to listen to it again – see if it impacts my oppinion of what took place.
