I downloaded the latest drivers from Visioneer that they have posted on their website but they won’t install (XP300.406612).  Anyone have any hints?

I tried to use the Vista "find your driver" tool but that didn’t turn up anything either.

    More searching …

  • Violent Femmes In San Diego

I went to the Violent Femmes concert after the races at the Del Mar Fairgrounds last night (Friday).  It was an awesome, high energy show.  The pure talent and passion of this band is very under rated IMHO.

But I’m getting too old … the crowd was very young and being youthful (ie. anonying the old farts who first saw this band before many of them were out of diapers), and the level of the sound left a ringing hum in my right ear that hasn’t gone away yet.

Nice pictures on flickr – including this one.  It looks like their music is available on Rhino.

I was interviewed for an article on "free and/or open source software" for the Union-Tribune last week, and the article is now online.

My quotes are pretty accurate.  I am not a "consultant" though but a "civil servant."

Dave Winer has announced that he is willing to support a new community based podcast directory similar to the original one we had when this wild ride all got started.

Myself and other members of FriendsInTech.com are solidly behind this idea, and have agreed to donate $200 to the effort.

UPDATE: The number has jumped from $200 to $250.

  • Dan Klass ‘No Offense’ Bitterest Pill Podcast

    July 21, 2006

    +

    +

    +

    +

    +

    +

Dan Klass is apparently taking a break (ETA TBD) from The Bitterst Pill podcast to sort out some stuff associated with how transparent he can and can’t be on his podcast.

I created a sample non-offensive version of what his podcast would be like if he did a podcast that didn’t offend, torque, tweak, sour, etc. someone.

It unfortunately also highlights the significant impact such an approach would have on those of us that enjoy his humor, satire, story telling ability, delivery, perspective, opinion, etc.

Sorry for the light posting.  I’ve been really swamped.  It is good to be professionally and personally swamped. I don’t feel overwhelmed.  Just busy.

I have been come quite a fan of http://del.icio.us/sholden over the last couple of weeks.

Since I use about four different Internet accessible computers during my average day, I was having link history and data repository issues.  I noticed an extension for del.icio.us for Firefox and that has been the catalyst for using it.  How do you use del.icio.us?
