Here is a cool tool I need to check out – Cornell 3D Journal – on my TabletPC.

I learned about it in a very round about but cool weblog way.

Phil Torrone over at Engadget pointed out how
to capture WMV/AVI/Other multimedia using iPodder which I setup at home.  The "movie tutorial" for 3D Journal was in my download folder this morning (along with a bunch of "other" stuff that didn’t deserve mentioning).

I can’t remember where I found out about the FeedSpeaker Beta, but I think I found a great list of RSS feeds that are great to showcase this tool – Yahoo News RSS.

I am as I write this listening to the Top News feed.  It is pretty good.

The only thing that is sort of annoying is that the source of the article gets mentioned at the end of the title and then immediately again at the beginning of the short summary.

I have just posted a music supplement to Tech Rag Tear Outs podcast.  I guess you can now think of my audio.xml file as a "radio station" and you get three shows: technology reviews, some musical selections of potential interest that are interesting to me, and some commentary (aka "podcast love fest").

Here is the outline for this edition of the music supplement:

    • (00:00-01:38): Introduction
    • (01:39-06:46): Billy Watson and his International Silver String
      Submarine Band
      with “I Outta Be Gone”
    • (06:46-10:37): Amber DJ’s number 14 song on the album Live With
      Friends
and Family called “Dave the Drummer, Roy Rogers LP”
    • (10:38-15:01): The Clintons via Garageband.com with the “Odds are 3 to 1” from the album
      “Who Invited Roger”
    • (15:01-15:45): Closing Comments

UPDATE: This file has been archived offline.  Send me email if you want it.

I just posted my first commentary supplement via this link: TRTO_commentary_supplement_041212_001.mp3 (4193.8K)

The complete show is about 12 minutes. In this edition I outlined why I am doing two supplements to Tech Rag Tear Outs podcast: one called commentary & another called music. I think the commentary one will come out weekly or every two weeks as I feel so moved.  It will more than likely just focus on my thoughts & opinions related to podcasting and weblogging, but I reserve the right to add other topics. 😉

In this edition I also talk about my recent new podcatching feeds (links soon):

    • Direct feed of Evil Genius Chronicles (Bittorent feeds don’t seem to be
working right for me in iPodder)
    • ipodio from Thomas Gaume (various feeds including Voice of America and other
      public shows)
    • Rip & Reed Blogger Podcast
    • Podcasts from Windely’s Technometria (I have been a long time reader of
      Phil’s weblog)
    • 2600: The Hacker Quarterly (RSS and audio recording from radio
      show)

I also list+comment on the following "super" podcasts: Today’s Podcast,  Bitterest Pill, and Slashdot Review.

And finally I walk through my the rest of my iPodder subscription list (just for FYI):

    • Daily Source Code
    • Trade Secrets
    • Engadget
    • Leo Laporte
    • Rock and Roll Geek
    • WGBH
      Morning Stores
    • Geek News Central
    • Scripting News
    • Future Tense
    • Jimmy Jett
    • Eric Rice
    • MWGblog Reel Reviews
    • Open Podcast
    • Tech Shorts
    • Useful Sounds
    • Podcat

Michael Butler at Rock and Roll Geek Show podcast (one of the better ones) has been trying to get a Heinekin endorsement for his show.  Adam Curry reports that Heinekin has decided to do their own podcast.  I got an error trying to access the site via Firefox.

In catching up with my RSS feed reading this afternoon using my WiFi connection and my TabletPC from all over the house pseudo-watching the kids play, there is definitely a trend of "a lot" of Apple rumors that are probably going to be proved true or false at Jan05 MacWorld.

    Some of the big ones:

    • Compact Flash based iPod
    • Cellphone (collaboration with Motorola)
    • Media Server (like Microsoft’s XP Media Edition)

  • Example Why Podcasting Is Cool

    December 10, 2004

    +

    +

    +

    +

    +

    +

I had a great run today.  Mostly because I had great podcasts like the following to listen to:

    • Voice of America via Ipodio [news]
    • Today’s Podcast [‘enigma’ definition and crypto]
    • Evil Genius Chronicles [commentary, music]
    • Jimmy Jett [Absolutely nothing … aka funny]
    • Leo Laporte [Tech update]
    • Future Tense [Privacy Information]
    • Rip’N’Read [Political Update]

They kept my mind engaged and my run just went by like a flash.

Tantek is urging folks to vote for DJ Amber in a DJ poll.  I have already done so, but I wanted those that listen to my podcast know that I really like her music and have been using short blurbs in my podcast between segments.  [Thanks to Robert Scoble for reminding me to post this.]

Here is a link to her new album.
