We did have a great dinner last night at Mistral Restaurant, 370-6 Bridge Pkwy, Redwood Shores, CA, 650-802-9222. My take away on the theme of the restaurant is a mix of Italian/Greek with a good deal of seafood offerings.

Costco in La Mesa, CA has Karl Strauss Oktoberfest Beer (Munich Blode Marzen) in the case for sale. Very good with brats, sauerkraut, and German Potato Salad.

I agree with the rating of 91/100 for Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout beer reviews @ BeerAdvocate.com but I sometimes wonder if this beer is really a “stout” or more of a “porter?”

Costco (La Mesa, CA) had a new sampler case of Flying Dog beer so I picked one up over the weekend. I had the Tire Bite Golden Ale (very good for a ‘lite’ beer) and the well-done Road Dog Scottish Porter.
