Swik that will outline current open source projects. The site will use
Wiki functionality, support RSS, and content will be created under
Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike license. - Magic Software has released eDeveloper 2 for J2EE and .NET
development. The tool is also integrated with XML and supports a wide
variety of web interfaces. Also new to this version is an improved GUI
editor for drag-n-drop development. Pricing starts at just under $6K
per developer. - BEA Systems has released v9.0 of Tuxedo their transaction
middleware for COBOL and C/C++ applications. This version supports AIX,
HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows. The software was originally created by
AT&T’s Unix Systems purchased by Novell and then bought by BEA. Key
new features: security protocols like PKI & Kerberos; better
integration with BEA’s Weblogic; and ability to communicate with
non-Java applications using a service oriented model.
