Today we examine briefly a press release from Intel on their "new NetStructure Single Board Computers for the telecommunications industry."
The latest high-end blade unit is the "IXB28504xGbEFS" for $13K each and a new "MPCMM0002 Chassis Management Module". These blades are equipped with dual 64-bit Intel Xeon processors. There is also a low-end blade called the "MCPBL0010" that retails for $3200.
It is interesting that Intel appears to be getting into the blade marketplace and with their recent announcements with Apple, these units would be pretty incredible Max OS X Intel servers for the Enterprise.
