This is your Tech Tidbits Daily for Monday, May 9th, 2005. Today’s
podcast contains one technical reference.
PC Magazine published for May 24, 2005 on pages 118-119 examines the latest in input devices – specifically keyboards and mice. For a traditional mouse, they found the Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse great for fine control and quick movements. It also has some software customization setting that make it handy for day-to-day computer usage also.
For those looking outside the box, you might want to try Contour Design RollerMouse PRO … it got a 4.5 out 5 score and an Editor’s Choice Award. I have used a Contour Design RollerMouse (standard) in the past and I’ve found them to be great for creating less stress on my own hands.
On the topic of keyboards, they looked at Belkin, Kensington, Satek, BenQ, Logitech, and Microsoft. And they rated the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3100 with 4.5 out of 5; and the Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth
a 5 out of 5 with an Editor’s Choice Award. I haven’t used any of these specific models, but I have a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse/Keyboard
combo at home that has worked out pretty well for me.
