This is your Tech Tidbits Daily for Monday, May 2nd, 2005.Today’s podcast contains one technical news item and a related interview.
Apple released Mac OS Tiger on Friday, April 29, 2005. Some key new features include: Spotlight (integrated search), Dashboard (data access widgets), iChat AV (enhanced video/audio conferencing), Automator (repetitive task automation), .MAC (sync your key data with online backup), SafariRSS (basic RSS reader), QuickTime 7 (features the H.264 codec for higher video quality), and Mail (better photo integration and features). This list of eight items is pretty compelling and the official list of new features and fixes is reportedly over 250. Definitely something for a Windows person to consider.
On the topic of SafariRSS, I was able get this opinion piece from Adam @ The MacCast. Thanks Adam for inviting me to the Tiger launch. And thanks for providing me with your input.
