I was talking to a friend last night who told me the following story from earlier in the day.

He had a couple of minutes to spare before picking up his daughter after her school, so he popped into an Office Depot to check out their digital cameras.   He is just in the early buying stages after just recently breaking his standard SLR camera.

He learned absolutely nothing from Office Depot though, except that they don’t want his business.

When he tried to get some service to actually "try" some of the cameras the store clerk told him they don’t allow customers to try units with batteries and memory cards in them, even with the clerk standing there.

It sounds fishy, but I have absolutely no reason to not believe my friend.  Anyone have similar experiences?
