I managed yesterday to fit in a run between rain storms in Southern California and got to listen to the first The Gadget Show Podcast.  I learned something new during the listen – that Microsoft is working with laptop vendors to integrate SPOT devices into future laptops to display not only SPOT data, but also provide some information about the status of the laptop’s battery, application details, etc.  That sounds really cool.

Then later in the evening I was reading through PC Magazine (08Mar04 – page 22) and there was a mention that Oregon Scientific is working on a new weather station/alarm clock/information device that would also offer SPOT. 

If you asked me, it would also be a good idea to add a mini-MP3 player, and a digital picture viewer to have the ultimate desktop accessory.
