The Violent Femmes (one of my favorite bands) will be playing at the Del Mar Racetrack on Sep. 03, 2004.

That’s awesome that you like this band. I have liked them since I worked at Wherehouse music store (my first job) after highschool (I know, they’ve been around much longer). I have only seen them live once. It was at UCSD a couple years back for the fall concert. VF was the headlining act. I thought they were great! However, a good portion of the audience left half way through their performance; they didn’t get the humor I guess. A lot of people were mad at them because they were “annoying” and “abnoxious”. I guess I found them funny and entertaining… they’re almost like Andy Kaufman: the audience was there to entertain the band as much as the other way around 😉
